Economy Grow Mix

Eco Nursery Mix

A step up from Economy Grow Mix — a more refined blend used by nurseries and landscape contractors for transplanting and bed preparation. More consistent texture and richer organic content. Works well for established ornamentals, fruit tree planting, and shrub installs.
Eco Landscape Mix

How Much Soil Do You Need?
Soil is sold and delivered by the cubic yard. The amount you need depends on your project type and depth. Here’s a quick reference to help you estimate:
Sod prep (2–3″ topsoil over compacted base): 1 cubic yard of topsoil covers approximately 110 square feet at 3″ deep. A standard 1,000 sq ft front lawn replacement typically needs 8–10 cubic yards of topsoil.
Raised vegetable beds: A standard 4×8 ft raised bed at 12″ deep needs about 1.2 cubic yards. A 4×4 ft bed at 12″ deep needs around 0.6 yards. Most homeowners ordering for raised beds purchase 1–3 cubic yards of Premium Vegetable Mix for a small backyard garden setup.
Landscape bed installs (4–6″ soil over native ground): 1 cubic yard covers approximately 55 square feet at 6″ deep. A standard 200 sq ft front yard bed install typically uses 3–4 cubic yards of Eco Nursery Mix or Eco Landscape Mix.
Fruit tree planting holes: A standard 3 ft wide x 2 ft deep planting hole needs about 0.5 cubic yards of garden mix. Planting 4–6 fruit trees (citrus, mango, avocado, lychee) typically uses 2–3 cubic yards.

You pay for the soil itself (per cubic yard at the prices shown above, ranging from $35 for standard topsoil to $69 for Premium Potting Mix) plus a flat delivery fee based on distance from the supplier to your property. Which soil should I use for a raised vegetable bed?
For a raised vegetable bed, our Premium Vegetable Mix is the right choice. It’s specifically blended with the organic matter and nutrient balance vegetables need to produce well in South Florida’s growing conditions. Tomatoes, peppers, leafy greens, herbs, citrus, and other food crops do best in this mix. If you’re filling a deep bed (24″+) and want to save money, you can use Eco Landscape Mix or Eco Nursery Mix as the bottom 12″ and top with Premium Vegetable Mix in the root zone.
What’s the difference between topsoil and a garden mix?
Topsoil (50/50 muck and sand) is a general-purpose material for sod prep, grading, and filling holes — it works for turf and basic landscaping but doesn’t have the organic matter or nutrient content needed for serious plant growth. Can you dump the soil directly next to my raised beds or garden?
In most cases, yes. Our dump trailer is 7 feet wide and 12 feet long — compact enough to fit through most side yard gates and back paths. If there’s a clear access route from the driveway to your garden area with no tight corners, low branches, or gates narrower than 8 feet, we can back in and place the soil right where you need it — saving you serious wheelbarrow time. Why can’t I just use the native soil in my yard?
South Florida’s native soil is predominantly sand with very little organic matter. It drains too fast for most plantings, holds almost no nutrients, and doesn’t retain moisture in our intense sun. You can amend it with compost and organic matter over time, but for raised beds, fruit trees, vegetable gardens, and serious landscaping you’ll get dramatically better results starting with quality garden soil designed for the local conditions. It’s the difference between a garden that thrives and one that struggles all season.
