Sand & Fill Dirt We Deliver

Different projects call for different materials. Tell us what the job is and we’ll make sure you get the right product from a local supplier — delivered to your property, not just the curb.

Clean Fill Dirt

The workhorse of South Florida construction and landscaping. Clean fill is screened dirt free of debris, roots, and organic material — used for raising grade, filling low spots that pond water after rain, backfilling behind retaining walls and seawalls, and leveling sites before sod, pavers, or concrete work. In Palm Beach County, where the water table is high and drainage is a constant issue, fill dirt is one of the most commonly needed materials for both new construction and property improvement. We deliver clean fill sourced from local yards that meets standard specifications.

Masonry Sand

Fine-grained, washed sand used as a leveling layer under pavers, as bedding sand for paver installations, for mixing with cement in block and stucco work, and as a base material for artificial turf. Masonry sand compacts well, which makes it the standard for any project where you need a smooth, stable surface before laying material on top. It’s one of the most requested sands for both residential paver driveways and commercial hardscape projects in Palm Beach County.

White Sand

Clean, bright white sand used for decorative landscaping, volleyball courts, play areas, sandbox refills, and beach-style property features. White sand is also used around pool decks where homeowners want a natural, coastal look instead of pavers or concrete. It’s finer and more expensive than standard fill or masonry sand, but the aesthetic difference is significant — especially on waterfront properties and high-end residential landscapes where appearance matters as much as function.

Play Sand

Washed, screened sand specifically processed for children’s play areas, sandboxes, and playground surfaces. Play sand is free of silica dust, debris, and sharp particles — making it safe for kids and compliant with playground surfacing standards. If you’re refilling a backyard sandbox, resurfacing a school or community playground, or building a play area at a daycare or HOA common area, this is the material you need. We deliver in bulk — far more cost-effective than buying bags from the store.

Common Projects That Need Sand or Fill Dirt in Palm Beach County

Sand and fill dirt are foundation materials — they’re underneath or behind almost everything that gets built in South Florida. Here are the most common reasons homeowners and contractors in Palm Beach County order delivery from us.

Grading and drainage correction. Palm Beach County sits on a limestone shelf just above sea level. When it rains, water has nowhere to go if the grade isn’t right. Fill dirt is used to raise low areas, redirect surface water away from foundations and pool equipment, and create proper slope so water drains toward swales and storm drains instead of ponding against your house. This is one of the single most common uses of fill dirt in the county — and one of the most important for protecting your property.

Paver driveway and patio base. Every paver installation starts with a compacted base layer — typically a combination of crushed limerock base and a leveling layer of masonry sand on top. The sand provides the final smooth, even surface that pavers sit on. If the base layer isn’t right, the pavers shift, settle, and crack. We deliver masonry sand for the bedding layer and can deliver base rock in a separate load if your project needs both.

Sod prep and lawn leveling. New sod needs a smooth, even base of topsoil or a sand-soil blend to establish strong roots. If your existing yard is uneven, has low spots from settling, or has bare patches where the soil has eroded, you’ll need fill dirt or a sand-soil mix to level the surface before the sod goes down. We deliver screened topsoil for planting-grade applications and clean fill for general leveling — depending on what your landscaper specifies.

Seawall and retaining wall backfill. Waterfront properties across Palm Beach County — from the barrier islands to the Intracoastal canals in Boca Raton, Delray Beach, and Palm Beach Gardens — regularly need clean fill delivered for backfill behind new or repaired seawalls. The fill goes behind the wall to stabilize it and bring the grade back up to the level of the yard. This is heavy material work, and our 3-ton capacity dump trailer handles it without issue. We run multiple loads per day for seawall projects until the backfill is complete.

Sand & Fill Dirt Delivery FAQ

How much fill dirt or sand fits in one load?

Sand and fill dirt are heavy materials. Our dump trailer has a 3-ton (6,000 lb) capacity, which translates to roughly 2–3 cubic yards per load depending on the specific material and moisture content. For larger projects — seawall backfill, full yard re-grading, large paver base installations — we run multiple loads back-to-back the same day until the job is covered.

What is the difference between fill dirt and topsoil?

Fill dirt is inert — it’s screened dirt with no organic content, used for grading, leveling, and backfill where you need structural stability and drainage. Topsoil contains organic material and nutrients that support plant growth. Use fill dirt when you need to raise grade or fill behind a wall. Use topsoil when you’re planting, sodding, or building garden beds. If you’re not sure which one your project needs, just tell us what you’re doing and we’ll recommend the right material.

Can you deliver same day?

In most cases, yes. If you call in the morning and the material is in stock at the supplier, we can pick up and deliver the same day. Sand and fill dirt are almost always available — they’re staple materials at every landscape supply yard in the county. We’ll confirm timing before you commit.

How much does sand or fill dirt delivery cost?

You pay for the material at the supplier’s bulk rate plus a delivery fee that covers our time picking it up and bringing it to your property. Sand and fill dirt are among the least expensive landscape materials by volume. Call us with your material type and the approximate amount you need, and we’ll give you an all-in quote — material plus delivery — before you commit.

Can you place the material in my backyard?

If there’s a clear access path, yes. Our dump trailer is 7 feet wide and 12 feet long — it fits through most side yard gates and access drives. We can back into the backyard and dump the material right where it’s needed, saving you from having to wheelbarrow it from the driveway. Send us a photo of the access point and we’ll confirm before scheduling.

Can you also remove dirt or debris from my property?

Yes. If your project involves removing old material before the new delivery goes down — excavated dirt from a pool dig, old gravel from a driveway tear-out, construction debris from a site — we can haul it away and then return with the fresh material. One crew handles both the removal and the delivery, so you don’t need to coordinate multiple vendors.
